Ghana Telecommunications Company Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David Venn as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Mr. David Venn is taking over from Mr. Dickson Oduro-Nyaning whose contract appointment ends on November 10, 2008. Mr. Oduro-Nyaning retired from Ghana Telecom in May 2007 after 35 years service with Ghana Telecom. He was asked by the then sole shareholder, the Government of Ghana, to continue serving as the CEO since the company was being prepared for divestiture.
Mr. David Venn is an innovative and respected business leader with proven experience in driving growth and implementing business strategy. He has spent the last five years in Zambia, gaining good knowledge and special insights into the African telecommunications market.
David has spent 25 years in the telecommunications industry, rising to the high position of Managing Director.
He has worked in a number of telecommunications enterprises in the USA, UK and other parts of Europe. He has also worked in Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia.
