Freetown — Reports reaching Concord Sports yesterday confirmed that the proposed friendly match between Leone Stars and the Atlas Lions of Morocco has been suspended.
The Atlas Lions were expected to host Leone Stars in Morocco on November 19 in a proposed friendly encounter.
According to the information gathered, the match organizers yesterday informed the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) that the friendly match has been canceled without any reasons given.
However, the organizers informed SLFA that they would communicate further if the proposed match would go ahead.
Members of the SLFA who confirmed the reports to Concord Sports said they are still looking forward to the Moroccans as no reasons was given for the match cancellation.
The canceled friendly match was expected to be a build for the Francophone nation as they are grouped alongside Cameroon , Togo and Gabon in the 2010 Nations Cup and World Cup qualifying match.
Meanwhile, SLFA would officially unveil members of the premier league board today at the football academy, Kingtom.
Also the Western Area section of the national premier league playoff would kick-start today with Belvic United taking on Kabala at the Attouga mini Stadium, while Real Republicans would face Brookfields United.
