Singateh aka Freaky Joe has released a new single entitled "Leegaye" meaning work in Wollof. The single features a Senegalese artist, Papis, based in the United States. The new single is currently being played on most radio stations in the country.
In a recent interview with What's On from his base in the United States, the young star disclosed that the song is dedicated to every single youth in The Gambia.
"We all have to work for the betterment of our dear country. Our visionary President Yahya Jammeh also preaches about the essence of work. One must stand up and do something in life because you will never be winner if you sit down. That is main the concept of the song," said Singateh.
The track will be part of his 2009 album currently being crafted by different producers including the famous Hakim of the Suns of Lights in renowned Hit studios in Atlanta, and in Toronto-Canada. Singateh is currently preparing for his last show in Minnesota sometime in November. Singateh is the first Gambian artist whose voice was heard on BBC's famous morning program "Network Africa", where he was interviewed about issues pertaining to his career.
