South Africa: Brookstone Confirms New Tycoons' Deal

31 October 2008

Platinum Stars' Managing Director, Larry Brookstone, has confirmed to KickOff.com that he and co-director Joseph Mapfulagasha have sold their 49 percent stake in the club to Royal Bafokeng Sports Holdings.

RBSH initially acquired 51 percent of the club in May 2007, paying the two former owners of what was then known as Silver Stars, a reported R20-million each for the controlling interest in the Lions of the North.

RBSH is a subsidiary of Royal Bafokeng Holdings, which is an investment arm of the Royal Bafokeng nation and, although no further details of the sale are available, Brookstone said that he would be remaining on as MD of the club.
