Kampala — TENNIS legend John Oduke is poised to add another title to his collection at the BM Group veterans tournament that ends at Kampala club today.
Oduke is leading favourite for the 40-60 age group crown after advancing to the final with ease.
The baseliner qualified after a 6-1 6-1 victory over Harald Hechler.
Oduke will face either James Bayego and James Tugyende who are due to play their semi-final game.
In the category for players over 60, Peter Tyaba will take on Edward Kivumbi in the final.
All round sports personality Edith Wamalwa was a 6-1 6-1 winner over Janet Higham to storm the women's final.
Wamalwa's opponents are either Grania Rubomboras or Betty Sempebwa who are scheduled to meet at the last four stage today.
The tournament is aimed at fostering a competitive environment for the older players.
The senior players argue that at their age, they cannot longer compete favourably with the younger players.
They say that the young players are more fitter, agile and would therefore produce a dominate proceedings in any competition.
According to Kampala club captain Stephen Musisi, 46 participants are taking part in the event.
The annual competition that started on Monday, attracted participants from ARA Club Makindye, Lugogo tennis center, Kabira Country Club and hosts Kampala club.
