Kampala — Immensely gifted all-rounder Kenneth Kamyuka, fresh from a professional stint with Brampton Masters CC in Toronto, Canada, has vowed to fight for his berth on the national team that will represent Uganda in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Division 3 World Cricket League (WCL) scheduled for late January in Buenos Airies, Argentina.
Kamyuka, who has been nursing a groin injury for the past one-month ever since participating in the final of the Toronto & District Cricket Association (TDCA) elite League that his side lost to Cavaliers at King City oval in Ontario, arrived in the country on Thursday morning beaming with lots of enthusiasm.
"I was happy when I learnt that we had beaten Zimbabwe on our last Kenyan Tour. I'm not fully fit and I have no reason to say else. But the good thing is that I'm willing to work and earn my number on the side. At the end of the South Africa tour, my class will tell and I should be able to walk into that side," said Kamyuka.
The 26-year-old has won many hearts both on the local and international scene for his match-winning performances and fighting spirit and the local fans will be hoping he can overcome the injury that has held him captive for the last month. Former U-19 skipper Hamza Saleh was expected to jet into Uganda from a stint at Bourton Vale C.C yesterday.
