Angola: Basketball Federation Introduces Monetary Prizes

Luanda — The best top three teams of the national basketball senior males championship will receive monetary prizes starting from the current season, ANGOP learnt Friday from the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB)'s technical director, Nuno Teixeira.

The source explained that the amount was not yet defined.

Meanwhile, USD 10,000 is the amount to be awarded to the winner of the championship's first phase.

The National Basketball Championship will be disputed in two phases (regular and final).

Thirteen teams will compete at the championship, with highlight to new comer Recreativo do Libolo from Kwanza Sul Province.

Below are the team competing in the current season:

1º de Agosto (champions), Petro de Luanda (vice-champions), ASA, Interclube, Cduan, Recreativo do Libolo, Universidade Lusíada, Sporting de Luanda, Vila Clotilde, Imbondeiro de Viana, Desportivo da Huíla, Sporting de Cabinda and Misto de Benguela.
