Roger Lemerre has emerged as a hot favourite for the Mamelodi Sundowns coaching job.
The former France coach was spotted at the Downs vs Bay United match today, as he watched the game alongside Patrice Motsepe in the club owner's suite.
Lemerre assisted Aimé Jacquet in the French team's 1998 World Cup victory, before taking over as national team coach the same year. Under him France won the Euro 2000 tournament, but he was dismissed after their early exit from the 2002 World Cup.
Next, Lemerre managed the Tunisian national team, guiding them to victory in the 2004 African Cup of Nations and qualification for the 2006 World Cup. After the team's quarterfinal exit from the 2008 Nations Cup, however, he was sacked.
In May this year he was named as head coach of Morocco.
