South Africa: Cops Probe Arms Link With Gang Shootings

Bishop Lavis police are investigating whether seven weapons - including shotguns and several rounds of ammunition - confiscated by police could be linked to a spate of gang-related shootings in the area in recent months.

The weapons were recovered during the past three weeks with the help of tip-offs from the community and are believed to have been used, or would have been used, by gangs embroiled in turf wars.
