A 34 year- old engineer, Koko Bassey, of Jikwoyi Phase 3, was yesterday arraigned before an Abuja magistrate court for allegedly stealing cement.
The cement belongs to one Anyagh Ngufan of Kado Estate.
The Court Clerk, Mrs Medinat Mustapha, informed the court that on August 19, the complainant a resident of Road 125, Kado Estate, reported a theft case to the police against the accused person .
The court's registrar further disclosed that the accused person stole the complainant's bags of cement and when the complainant tried to question his attitude, he gave her a blow and assaulted her physically.
Corporal Stephen Eimiga equally told the court that when the police investigated the allegation, the accused person confessed that he actually committed the crime.
The accused person pleaded not guilty.
The magistrate, Samuel E. Idhiarhi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N40,000 with a surety resident in the FCT and adjourned the case to November 13 for hearing.
