Lisboa — Angolan writer, Ruy Duarte de Carvalho, is in the process of completing his next book he expects out to the public early next year, he announced Sunday in Lisbon, Portugal.
After he started in 1972 with "Chão de Oferta", a poetry book that earned him the "Mota Veiga" award, Ruy de Carvalho tried other literary genders, having embarked on a mixture of poetry, fiction and essays.
Speaking to the Portuguese news agency (Lusa), on the fringes of a conference under the "Gulbenkian" foundation, the writer spoke of the book he is finishing which, he added, will be in articulation with the two previous works.
He would not say what the title of the book will be, but added that it will have as its scene the southwestern side of Angola, northeast of Namibia and the semi-desert region of Cunene.
Born in Portugal, in 1941, Ruy Duarte de Carvalho came to Angola in the early days of his life, having settled in the region of Moçamedes, currently Namibe, southwestern part of the country.
