Top contenders Tornado and Wanderers will both be hoping to avoid defeat and secure wins with bonus points if they are to stay on track for this year's Castle Lager National Cricket League title.
Tornado lock horns with defending champions Africa Cricket Club (ACC), who staved off relegation with a 98-run win over Tornado B last weekend at Lugogo, whereas Wanderers face-off with Nile at the lakeside oval in Entebbe. It will be Tornado's last fixture of the regular season ahead of the Shs1m Castle Champions Trophy that is contested by the top four finishers.
Tornado have 36 points and know that a big win will enable them reclaim the league crown from ACC. Wanderers are also aware that only emphatic victories over Nile (today) and ACC (next weekend) can enable them overhaul Tornado.
Wanderers have 28 points and can add another 10 to their tally if they win with bonus points. "We are not going to worry about what happens in Kyambogo. We are going to try and win our game and hope that results elsewhere go our way. We are still very much in the title frame," said Wanderers skipper Denis Musali.
In the Plate League, Kampala Institute of Cricket Clubs (KICC) face Jinja Association of Cricket Clubs (JACC) whereas Premier exchange pleasantries with Kutchimadu.
