Struggling Highlanders have warned defending champions Dynamos they will not surrender the three points at stake on a silver platter when the two sides clash in a potentially explosive CBZ Premier League match this afternoon.
All roads lead to Rufaro Stadium for what could easily turn out to be the best match of the season for the old rivals.
Bosso are wrapping up what is turning out to be their worst season in almost a decade and until last weekend, had turned themselves into draw specialists.
They came back from a string of deadlocks to beat battling Motor Act 1-0 at Barbourfields last Sunday, but were still not convincing in the absence of a number of key players.
But Bosso chairman, Ernest Sibanda says a date with DeMbare always brings out the best from his charges whose form dipped after the sacking of coach Methembe Ndlovu, mid-season.
"Dynamos are playing very good football," Sibanda said, "but that does not mean we are going to Harare to surrender the three points. We are going out there to play good attacking football that we always display and possibly walk away with a win."
Stand-in coach, Reuben Tsengwa welcomes back inspirational captain Gilbert Banda after a fortnight on the sidelines due to injury, and Eric Mudzingwa, another gritty midfielder.
Today's match originally scheduled for week 21 of the league season was postponed because of DeMbare's commitments in the African Champions League. The Harare giants finally succumbed to Cotonsport of Cameroon in the semi-finals in embarrassing fashion after letting in five goals over two legs, without reply.
However, their recovery seems to have been swift, as DeMbare accounted for Gunners and Shooting Stars in the past week in league and cup matches. The champions would be forgiven for thinking that today's fixture is another routine stroll in the park. Their only worry, perhaps, is the absence of their hit man Edward Sadomba, who is trying his luck in South Africa.
Dynamos captain Murape Murape still sounded a word of caution to his charges, saying Bosso can never be ruled out of contention.
"It's going to be tough and such big matches are very unpredictable," he said. "They can go either way but whatever happens we have to walk out with the three points to catch up with Monomotapa. You cannot count out Highlanders because they are a good team."
Murape said there was a huge pool of players at Dynamos to fill Sadomba's boots and his absence might not be noticed.
The two giants have already met three times this season, with Dynamos winning once. The other two matches ended in stalemate.
