Kigali — Rwanda's basketball giants APR qualified for this year's Fiba Africa Club Championship after winning the Africa Zone Five club championships title in Ethiopia over the weekend.
It was an all Rwandan clubs' affair in the final match of the Championships, which the defending champions, beat local rivals and national champions Marines 68-59.
In the Ladies category, APR failed to imitate their men's counterparts as they lost 68-35 to defending champions KPA (Kenya Ports Authority) in the final game.
APR under the guidance of ex-Kenyan international Cliff Owuor, won all of their fixtures which were played on round robin basis.
APR will represent Zone V in the Fiba Africa clubs' championship due in Tunisia later this year.
It will be APR's second appearance in the continental event, having their made their debut last year in Angola.
