Mafolofolo and Kutlwano women volleyball clubs continue their rivalry tomorrow when they meet in the final of Debswana Cup at the Otse Police College. The two have met in almost every final in recent times with Mafolofolo being dominant. The last time Kutlwano beat their rivals was in 2006 in the same cup final.
Though Kutlwano match Mafolofolo pound to pound, it seems they cannot find the right combination to beat their enemies. Tomorrow, Mafolofolo hope to maintain their dominance over Kutlwano and would want to revenge the losses they have suffered at the hands of their rivals since 2006. Kutlwano will not have their influential player Tebogo Sejewe who suffered a knee injury during the Capital BMW finals last month. Sejewe who is now on crutches has been watching from the sidelines as her team plays. However, her absence does not seem to have affected the team much as her teammates are doing well.
The lanky Masego Hosia will once again be the player to watch from Kutlwano. The evergreen Hosia remains the pillar of the team in the absence of Sejewe. In Mafolofolo's line-up, courageous captain Mosetsana Tumotumo is expected to motivate her teammates.
The player told Mmegi Sport that her side is ready for battle. She said their dominance over Kutlwano would count for nothing when they meet tomorrow. "This will be a new game and a new day and we will take the game as it comes. We cannot dwell much on the past," she said.
Kutlwano coach, Isaac Samuel knows it is not going to be easy in the final. He said Mafolofolo has many experienced players as compared to his side. He said the two sides are equally matched and the major problem is that his team gives Mafolofolo too much respect. Samuel said they have talked to the players to prepare them psychologically for the game. "If they can stop respecting Mafolofolo too much, I am confident that they can beat them," he said. He stated that Sejewe's absence has affected the team and they are working round the clock to find a replacement. He said Sejewe is a good player and a motivator.
