Hon. Francis Isidore Wainchom Nkwain, former Minister Delegate in the Ministry of External Relations, has published a 203-page book titled: Cameroon: High Grounds for National Unity and Peace.
According to an abstract submitted to The Post, the book is a political treatise that sets out not only to correct but also to complete the picture of the most important eras of Cameroon's history and leadership.
The book to be launched November 4 at the Muna Foundation, Yaounde, is a comparative study of Cameroon's two Republics since 1960. "In both its style and content, the book re-interprets Cameroon's historiography and gives posterity a better understanding of the different roles which builders of the Cameroon nation played, in their strife to solve the various problems that plagued the development of a nascent Nation-State, as well as those that, even in the present dispensation, still stare glaringly at us in the face," the abstract states.
The book launch has been organised in collaboration with the Directorate of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic and the University of Dschang, where Francis Nkwain is the Board Chairman. The book was published in October 2008 by Maryland Printers Bamenda.
