Jos — The European Union (EU) prime project is to construct a permanent cold store for the state to reduce infant and maternal deaths in the state.
The Manager, EU Prime, Mr Peter Wuyep, stated this when he received a piece of land for the construction of a Permanent Cold store donated to the EU by the Plateau State Government in Jos.
He said the construction of the cold store will be completed within three months and handed over to the state government in other to meet the healthcare needs of the people. Mr Wuyep said Plateau State is one of the four states that will benefit from this kind of very important project and thanked the state government for providing the land to the EU which he said will assist greatly towards the success of the projects. Handing over the piece of land to the EU, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Angela Miri, thanked the EU for choosing Plateau State to benefit from the different healthcare projects in the state, adding that this project will help a lot to solve problems of vaccine storage in the state. Dr Angela advised the contractor handling the project to use quality materials to enable the state have a standard project that would stand the test of time and to complete it within the stated three months.
The contractor, Engineer Odunjo M. kayode thanked the EU for choosing his company to do the project and promise to deliver within the stipulated time.
