Tanzania: AUWSA Calls for Assessment of their Services

2 November 2008

Arusha — Arusha Urban Water and Sewerage Authority (AUWSA) will celebrate its 10th Anniversary in May next year with a fresh look on how best to improve services to its customers.

In preparation to the anniversary, AUWSA has embarked on an evaluation of performance of its core services - provision of clean and safe water and disposal of sewage.

The evaluation will involve customers and other stakeholders in and around Arusha municipality where AUWSA is mandated to serve. The exercise will be inline with the AUWSA Clients Service Charter which was launched in May 2004.

A communiqué from AUWSA says the evaluation would help the authority improve its services in the coming years. Customers are thus requested through a questionnaire to give their views and comments on various matters concerning AUWSA's services. The questionnaires should be filled-in and sent back to the authority by November 20 this year after which a public meeting would be convened to consolidate customers' evaluation and proposals.
