Angola: 400 Cuban Teachers Expected Soon

Luanda — At least 400 Cuban teachers for high, higher and technical education will come in the next days, in the light of the cooperation

relations with Angola, announced Tuesday in Luanda the Cuban ambassador to the African nation, Pedro Leal.

Speaking at the end of an Audience with the Prime Minister, António Paulo Kassoma, the Cuban diplomat did not reveal the teachers' coming date.

He said that the meeting helped to make the assessment of the cooperation relations with Angola since the historic visit of the President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, to the Caribbean Island, in September 2007.

The Cuban diplomat declared that almost 80 percent of the 1,500 technicians expected, in the light of the cooperation agreement are for the health and education areas, and it will include in the construction sector and others linked to Angola' economic and social development.

Pedro Leal expressed the willing of Cuba to strengthen the cooperation relations and congratulated Angola for one more anniversary of National Independence, to be celebrated on November 11 and for the success of the legislative elections held last September.
