Abeokuta — Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA) has denied the reports that the Federal Government cancelled water projects located in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, and Oyo township.

Public Relations Officer of the Authority, Mr Adeniyi Saliu, in a statement, noted that the report, credited to Managing Director of OORBDA, Engineer Tolu Fadahunsi, was not true.

He said, "he never said the projects were ordered to be stopped by the Federal Government, but said the projects remained paramount to the Federal Government, and as such, could not have been halted," adding that its execution and completion would be presided over by Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources.

He enjoined members of the public to disregard the report, adding that the projects would be executed and completed.

"The Authority expressed its strict commitment to, and compliance with due process and transparency during all stages of execution of its approved capital projects for 2008," the statement noted.
