Luanda — The Angolan ambassador to Canada, Miguel Zau Puna, Tuesday in Ottawa, analysed with the directors for Africa of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Janet Graham, and of Export Development Firm, Rizwan Haider, both Canadians, on issues related to the cooperation between the two countries.
According to the press release issued by the Angolan embassy in Canada, delivered Wednesday to Angop, the Angolan diplomat briefed with Janet Graham on the funding, through a credit line, of USD 1 million, of infrastructure projects in Angola.
The accord, signed last October, between the Credit and Saving Bank (BPC) and the Export Development Firm of Canada, provides for the participation of Canadian companies in the infrastructure projects in Angola.
Zau Puna recalled that the cooperation between the two countries has been focussed on domains of civil construction, energy, water, oil and trading, and some Canadian entrepreneurs have already been in the country, with stress to Luanda, Bengo and Uige provinces, in partnership with national institutions.
In his turn, Janet Graham highlighted the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, in search for a peaceful solution for the crisis in Zimbabwe.
The Canadian export to Angola increased to more than USD 80 million, over the last five years.
