Kampala — After being inaugurated in Kampala by African football star Samuel Eto'o, the Omo Soccer Clinics have expanded their initiative by involving 100 primary schools in rural areas all over Uganda.
The Barcelona striker launched the programme two months ago under the theme "10/10 Soccer for Skills" to help impart life lessons and skills through the game with a wider motive of helping pupils develop ways of dealing with life pressures, stress and triumphs.
The sponsors of the programme Unilever Uganda Limited have also recruited 10 football coaches from Proline Soccer Academy to train the children on the basic 10 soccer skills linked to 10 life skills they require for their survival in the ever-changing world. "We have had an overwhelming response to the Omo Soccer Schools for Life," Emmy Hashaka, Omo Brand Manager told Daily Monitor.
Unilever will reward the winning child and parent with an all expenses trip to watch a live English Premier match.
