Luanda — The provincial governor of Luanda, Francisca do Espírito Santo, this Tuesday here considered timely the discussion, among representatives of neighbouring countries, about issues related to the combat against various diseases and the adjustment of common strategies for their eradication.
Francisca do Espírito Santo said this at trans-border meeting among Angola, Zambia, Namibia and Democratic Republic of Congo, taking place in Luanda until November 06.
After mentioning malaria, diarrhoeic and respiratory diseases, Espirito Santo called for the stepping up of the social mobilisation work so that the society becomes aware of what health is and what to do in order to guarantee this at home.
According to the governor, Luanda province is indeed a border and due to its population density and the diversity it faces, it is believed to be a privileged site to assess everything that might happen concerning transmissible diseases.
Transmissible diseases are a major concern, and that is why the country's capital is making every effort to meet the government's goal and what is defined in its programme, emphasized the governor.
To her, the meeting will create an opportunity for all residents of this province, mainly the officials in charge of the health sector, to revive, refresh views and assume new responsibilities.
The governor reaffirmed that the Luanda government is committed to doing everything so that the result of this joint intervention amongst various countries can also result in real and objective commitment of the province of Luanda.
