Luanda — The Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, sent Tuesday a message to his Angolan counterpart, José Eduardo dos Santos, on reinforcement of relations between the two countries.
The message has been brought by the Iranian Foreign minister, Mohammad Reza Bagheri, who considered the visit as important, stressing that it might dictate the first visit at the highest level between the two countries.
Mohammad Reza Bagheri said as well this is an exploratory visit to Angola.
He mentioned as strong points in the strengthening of relations the fact that the two countries are members of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and being located in strategic regions of their respective continents.
To him, the main focus in the cooperation should be on the energetic field, without damage to other areas of cooperation.
The Iranian official was welcomed at Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport by the deputy Foreign minister, George Chicoty.
