Cuvelai — The Public Health Services in Cuvelai district, southern Cunene province, recorded a total of 909 new cases of malaria in September this year.
This was announced to Angop on Tuesday in Cuvelai by the malaria programme supervisor, Kumbainha Kandongo, who said that of the cases mentioned above, one resulted in death.
He said the group of patients include 610 adults and 299 children.
Kumbainha Kandongo explained that the health services have been promoting awareness talks within the population on how to prevent the transmission of the disease.
According to him, the programme includes distribution of mosquito nets to pregnant women and children under five years of age.
