The is no doubt that the Freedom of Information Bill otherwise known as "FoI Bill" pending before the National Assembly has generated a lot of controversies.
This is to be eXpected for the simple reason that the Bill when it becomes law, will give Nigerian citizens access to public records and documents, subject to certain eXemptions specified in the Bill. Recently, the law firm of Bamidle Aturu & Co at its inaugural Annual Law and Social Development Lecture focused on the prospects and challenges confronting the FoI Bill.
