Kampala — Local football governing body Fufa and Super Divisions Club Associations (SDCA) have finally agreed to form an independent committee to run the National Super League.
Both parties reached a formal agreement yesterday in a meeting conducted by State Minister for Sports Hon. Charles Bakkabulindi.
The committee comprises five people; Nkumba University sports tutor Patrick Ssebuliba (chairman), SDCA's duo of Julius Kavuma Kabenge and Livingstone Rajan (members) and Fufa's Moses Magogo.
The committee takes over the National Super League management with immediate effect until its two-year term expires. Fufa and SDCA had had protracted wrangles with either party keen to have full powers in the running of the league.
"All I want to see prevailing in this committee is team work and transparency. Put aside your personal interests and work for the good of the game. If the league is poorly run, that means the quality of players that play for the Cranes will also be bad," said Bakkabulindi.
He called upon the committee to work tirelessly. "Now that you have come to terms, make sure that you run the league in a manner that will convince everyone. You are actually not working for yourselves but for those Ugandans."
