Uganda: UTL Lines Up 35 Cars for Grabs

Kampala — Uganda Telecommunication Company Limited has unveiled a Shs2billion promotion with unprecedented volume of prizes in the country geared towards boosting its mobile customer base.

The company has lined up 35 new Toyota Premio salon vehicles to be won by its lucky subscribers in a draw that will see two cars given out every Friday.

"Throughout the year, we have been expanding our network and improving it and we have seen a great increase in subscribers," Chief Commercial Officer Hans Paulsen said.

The promotion illustrates the intensity of the competition in the local industry with other players doling out various goodies to win the hearts of potential subscribers.

The promotion runs for 17 weeks and is expected to close in March next year. To participate, one will have to buy a UTL sim card, air time or/and a katikitiki brand phone and then send an SMS to *180# to gain automatic registration into the electronic draw.

The SMS costs Shs133. The more SMS one sends the more chances they create for themselves to win.

Other prizes include; mobile handsets, air time, T-shirts, baseball caps among others.

The promotion is likely to excite the public after Warid, MTN and Zain launched simultaneous promotions last month.
