Mogadishu — Several houses were damaged by flood waters in the South western Somali town of Bardhere, after heavy rains pounded the area, officials said.
The last day's floods swept over several suburbs, of the town. There were no reports of casualties, although the flooding was quite intense.
The flood hit the city and continued to sweep over it for entire day.
Many of the city's residents left their homes and spent the night on safe ground. However, there are no barriers in town to prevent the homes from water's damages.
Officials in the town said a committee was formed and that a wall is now being constructed to block water from the main river.
No assistance majors to those victims are yet available.
