Luanda — The Environment deputy minister, Mota Liz, returned to Angola on Wednesday coming from Mozambique, after participating in the meeting on African Portuguese Speaking Countries (PALOP) which for two days analysed topics related with environment preservation.
The event took place on 3-4 November and was attended by representatives of the five states that makes up the PALOP community, as well as by international organisations linked to environmental issues.
According to the deputy minister, Angola's participation in the forum was important since the country is in a phase of re-launching its environment conservation areas, such as game-reserves, which during the war were abandoned.
To Mota Liz, the meeting allowed also the delegation to gain experience from other countries like Mozambique, which is already a step ahead in this matter.
Besides the meeting of officials from the environment sector in PALOP, the Angolan team participated also in a seminar on "Ecotourism" organised by the Mozambican government with the support of other international organisations.
