Luanda — At least 100 Angolan students will start as from next February higher education training in medicine in Cuba, announced Thursday the National Scholarship Institute (INABE).
Speaking to Angop the INABE director, Jesus Joaquim Baptista, said that the students are part of a team made up of 1,500 scholars who will be sent through phases to the Island nation in order to attend courses in sciences of health, education, maths and in the areas of engineering.
According to INABE senior official, he had travelled to Cuba in order to hold contacts with the local authorities for the sending of the Angolan students, in the light of accomplishment of a specific programme, in which he will select the best students.
Jesus Baptista has recently visited Cuba, Portugal and Spain for contacts with the authorities of those countries on applying for scholarships.
The official also stated that his institution will hold contacts with 22 countries on the sending of students for higher education and pos-graduate training in various domains.
