The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has awarded contracts worth N149.7 million for the supply of generators to its 14 formations across the country.
This was contained in a document made available by NCS to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.
The document showed that the contracts were awarded between January 2007 and April 2008.
It also showed that one unit of 500KVA generator was supplied to the NCS headquarters in Abuja.
"The NCS Area Office and the training school in Kano each received a 100 KVA generator at the cost of N9.87 million and N18.9 million.
"Comptrollers' quarters at Wuse II in Abuja had its 500 KVA generator supplied at the cost of N6.13 million, " the document indicated.
According to the document, the customs barracks on airport road in Abuja is enjoying a 300KVA transformer supplied at the cost of N5.41 million.
"A contract of N9.26 million was also awarded for a 33 KVA high-low tension power lines to these barracks," the document said.
The document said the NCS Command and staff College at Gwagwalada near Abuja got a 250 KVA generator supplied at N13.42 million.
The document said the NCS Federal Operations Office got a N250 KVA generator supplied at the cost of N13.5 million.
"The NCS industrial area at FESTAC town in Lagos was supplied with a 100 KVA generator at the cost of N8.68 million.
"The 100 KVA generator at NCS area command in Sokoto was purchased at the cost of N8.62 million," the document stated.
The document said a 100 KVA generator was supplied to the customs' Jibia border station in Katsina at the cost of N8.93 million.
It also indicated that the NCS barracks at Mubi in Adamawa got a 100 KVA generator supplied at the cost of N8.99 million.
"The NCS barracks at Sahuda village in Adamawa got its 60 KVA generator at the cost of N5.02 million.
"The barracks at Karu village in Abuja was supplied with a 60 KVA generator at the cost of N5.02 million," the document said.
