Sierra Leone: 4 Dragged to Court for Assault

Freetown — Accused Christopher Cole, Anthony Cole, Prince Cole, and Ustites Cole were yesterday arraigned before magistrate Alfred Fedawe of Court No 1 for allegedly wounding one Mariatu Kamara of No 5, Carney Street, east of Freetown.

Complainant Mariatu Kamara told the court: "I got myself involved in the hands of the accused on the October 5, 2008 at about 8:00pm when Anthony Cole requested to fix up a television aerial and I asked him to wait the following day."

She added: "This time around Cole refused and decided to go ahead with the operation while using abusive language on me as he was still busy fixing the aerial."

Kamara said she was attacked on her way to the police station. "I was attacked from my back. I was rescued by some individuals with first aid before reporting the matter to the Ross Road police station," she said.

The accused were granted Le 2 million bail each and the matter was adjourned to November 18 this year.
