Uganda: High Court Halts Aya Land Sale

Kampala — THE High Court has stopped the attachment and sale of property belonging to Aya Investments (U) Limited.

This followes an application in which the Aya Investments are appealing against an order compelling them to pay sh4.4b to their former lawyer, Muzamiru Kibeedi, for work he did.

The court had in October ordered the sale of a 15-acre-land in Nakasero where Aya Investments are constructing a-multi-million-dollar-hotel, to recover the sh4.4b as legal fees they allegedly owed their former lawyer.
