Uganda: Iganga FC Appeals to Refs Appointment Committee

Kampala — Iganga FC officials have appealed to the Fufa referees appointment committee to be prudent while making appointments for up country fixtures.

The Eastern region based club's secretary Issa Magoola disclosed to Saturday Monitor yesterday that they are not happy with referee Hillary Kimbugwe and Match Commissioner Hassan Basisa who were in charge of their previous away fixture in Mbarara.

The game ended in a two-all draw. "When the game started there were so many mistakes and fouls, but they all went unpunished. Even the two goals Mbarara scored to win a point were questionable," said Magoola.

He revealed that Kimbugwe witnessed Iganga left back Baker Wandera's leg being broken by a Mbarara player but never punished the player for the offence. "Until today the player is still in a private clinic in Mbarara and it's us spending on him. There was no stretcher on the pitch and even the security was not there but the referee allowed the game to start,"added Magoola. He cried out that referees should make it to the venue of the game early enough.
