Luanda — Angolan Government Friday in Luanda presented to Parliament its National Plan on the 2009 Budget that comprises revenues and expenditures estimated at Akz 3.1 trillion each.
The two documents were presented by the prime minister, António Paulo Kassoma, backed by various Cabinet ministers and secretaries of State.
The 2009 National Plan sets as national priorities those matters associated with the ruling MPLA party governing programme for the 2009-2012 period and the performance attained over the last few years.
This includes incrementing food security, access to housing, improved and expanded access to drinking water, intensified literacy programmes, expansion of training and professional qualification, fight against great endemics and creation of at least 320,000 new jobs.
As to the State Budget, the social sector continues taking the biggest share with 34,6 percent, followed by administration (general public services) with 28,9 percent and the economic sector with 14,7.
The two documents will be subject to discussion at the Parliament's session of November 14, with the political parties with seats issuing their political declarations about the matter.
The discussion of the State Budget and the National Plan will go until December 12 this year, after going through the specialty commissions, with the participation of concerned Government members.
