Witbank Spurs have completed the signing of former Orlando Pirates winger Tebogo Mashaba who made a huge impression during the two weeks that he has been training with the First Division club.
Mashaba, who joins Spurs as a free agent after being discarded by Pirates, could as well make his debut in the derby against Mpumalanga Black Aces at the Ackerville Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs' boss Themba Mafu confirms the acquisition of the 29-year-old on a contract that will run up to the end of the season.
"The deal between us and the players' agency has been sealed. At this point we are just waiting for the player to get his registration card from the PSL. We were unfortunate not to have gotten the card on Thursday because when we got to the PSL offices there was a meeting. But if he does get his card then he will definitely play a part in tomorrow's game against Aces," Mafu adds.
"Although Tebogo hasn't been playing regularly for a while, the technical ability is still there; all that he needs is to catch up on is match fitness. To be honest he was the missing link in our team."
Mashaba, who has also previously played for Black Leopards and Dynamos, will join up with two former Pirates teammates, Ralph Matema and Thabo Moloi.
