It was an entirely different experience on Wednesday, 5th of November 2008, when the four probation students from the ongoing MTN Project Fame Academy embarked on a 'meet and greet' session.
The students Benedicta Ebute and Praise Adejo from Nigeria , Dorcas Yeboah and Kojo Osew from Ghana, were all radiance and elegance as they went about the city to meet and greeted their fans, friends and family.
Their first point of call was the Murhi International Television and Star FM, 101.5, situated at the Alausa Business District, Lagos , where they received a warm welcome from the management staff and other visitors on the premises.
The visit was complemented by an interview at the MITV studio hosted by Kemi Ikotun Adekusibe, who had a swell time engaging the extra cool looking students in an interesting chat under a relaxed atmosphere.
At the LTV premises it was hectic for the security team to control the crowd that trouped in to cheer the contestants.
The contestants took their turn to perform their various songs and they delivered it so well that before long the cheering crowd were almost unstoppable as they continue to sing and dance along in exhilaration from the various African hits perfectly delivered by this dudes and babes.
Praise Adejo was the first to take the stage giving his fans a swell time with his own version of the Celine Dion super hit, 'When I need love'.
Benedicta was away from her usual character a bang on stage, when she did her Onyeka Owenu's late 80's hit track 'Iyogogo'. She soaked herself into the hearts of her fans and the yelling was almost deafening.
Kojo Osew was just too hot to behold, so hot that the crowd were melting with Paul Play's Hit, 'Angel of my life'. Dorcas got all the inspiration she needed to survive her fourth probation with the cheering response she got when she did her 'Waiting in vain' , originally performed by Bob Marley, as she was smoking on stage, thrilling the crowd with her velvet voice.
After their performances on stage, the four contestants sent their messages to their fans from across the continent, soliciting their support through votes.
