Angola: 2009 Programme Prioritises Special Zone of Luanda and Bengo

Luanda — The government programme for 2009 which was presented last Friday in Luanda to the parliamentarians establishes, among other priorities, the implementation of integrated plans for urban and infrastructural expansion of the provinces of Luanda and Bengo.

This was announced by the Angolan Prime Minister, AntÃ'nio Paulo Kassoma, when he was presenting the bills on the State Budget and the Government Programme for 2009, at a plenary session of the National Assembly.

According to the Premier, in the ambit of promoting the harmonious development of the national territory, the programme also expects to institutionalise the special economic zone of these two provinces.

For 2009, the government also expects to promote the integrated development of the rural communities.

The programme comprises feasibilities studies in order to create balanced centres in well developed zones of the national territory.

The main goals of the government programme for 2009 is to promote unity and national cohesion, consolidation of democracy, economic stability, improvement of the citizens' living standards and the development of the private sector.

Ministers, deputy ministers, secretaries of state and students of the Law faculties of the Angolan public and private universities, Agostinho Neto and Catholic respectively, attended the ceremony.
