Benguela — The executive director of the Organising Committee of the African Cup of Nations in football that Angola will host "COCAN2010", Antonio Mangueira, on Friday guaranteed, in central Benguela province, that the construction works of the new stadium in the province are ahead by 10 days compared to the target programmed for its conclusion.
Antonio Mangueira was speaking to the press after a meeting between the management board of COCAN2010, presided over by the deputy minister of Public Works, Joanes André, and a team of supervisors and contractors, which aimed at assessing the course of the works, progress and eventual constraints.
The director referred that the Works involve firms such as Angola-telecom (telecommunication firm), water and electricity firms, which were mobilised to carry out various tasks in the stadium.
On his turn, the national director of Public Works, Gama Teixeira, reiterated the progress registered in the Benguela infrastructure, having expressed conviction that the works shall be concluded within the time limit.
He affirmed that the works in training fields shall begin on November 11 and that the project presented by the "Synohidro" firm, in charge of the works, was approved by the board of COCAN2010.
