Luanda — The Military Games constitute an important part of the tradition of struggle and victories of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), with their purposes associated with physical training, readiness in combat and skill.
This was said Saturday in Luena, eastern Moxico province, by the chief of Staff of the Angola Armed Forces (FAA), gen. Francisco Furtado.
According to the general, who was addressing the ceremony of closing of the 5th Military Games, that went from October 18 in that region, the goals mentioned above had to do with the development of the soldiers' physical qualities and professional proficiency, based on the various domains of action of the land, sea and air troops.
"Physical exercise is a benefit to health, which favours the good functioning of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, strengthens the muscles, reduces cholesterol and weight, including many other benefits, significantly improving the physical and psychic wellbeing of the individual," said the general.
To the general, the logic of the principles that guide the military games, orient the FAA conduct and the ends sought with sports are closely associated with the integral development
of the personality of the soldier and the citizen, in the spirit of comradeship, solidarity, fraternity, cohesion and socialisation.
On the other hand, the military officer welcomed the intention of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to accept a protocol of cooperation for concrete projects to be implemented soon in
