Kampala — NATIONAL champion Paul Mutambuze is among leading favourites for the top award at the Eastern Africa Table tennis championships that ends in Nairobi today.
Mutambuze, whose experience stretches over two decades, will be looking to add another title to his impressive collection.
Mutambuze is competing alongside men's defending champion Kevin Mafabi, Jackson Migadde, Edward Kiwanuka and Dan Kajubi also from Kampala.
The group, whose trip is sponsored by Scandinavian Bus Service, also entered the doubles event.
Leading players from Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Ethiopia are also battling not only for trophies but for cash as well.
Women's defending champion Rita Nekesa also from Uganda, did not make it to the tournament due to commitments at her school.
