The MDC will summon its entire leadership on Friday to deliberate on the outcome of the SADC summit in Johannesburg and plan the way forward.
Party spokesman Nelson Chamisa said they will not accept a 'false settlement' to the country's political crisis, adding that the leaders will be considering the future of the power-sharing deal, signed nearly two months ago.
Chamisa told journalists that the MDC position was that a false settlement was riskier than no settlement. He said the MDC wanted a deal that would give it 'the influence to change the situation of the people of Zimbabwe.'
The summit in Johannesburg on Sunday called for Robert Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai to form a unity government immediately, saying the parties should jointly control the disputed Home Affairs ministry, which controls the police.
Tsvangirai, who defeated Mugabe in March elections, has rejected this proposal as unworkable, while Mugabe told state television on Monday he would form a government soon, despite the disagreement.

it`s a sad story our fellow people are suffocating down in zim our parents are struggling to make ends meet but someone with no passion of the future generation is dilly-dulling letting the people suffer in the name of power .we must say no to such governance .i am left wondering why the so called SADC leaders recognize Mugabe as a leader.please MR tsvangirayi with draw from this stupid game like history is repeatig its self mugabe has no passion for any one since he doesn`t have children who will leave after he dies call for a natinal strike and see if you can`t shake him we support you big tym viva new zimbabwe !
MDC just pull out from any circus decided by the jokers in SADC and watch ZANU-PF run their country.Don't call for any national strike as that will only give Mugabe and his killers the scope to consume you overnight.Start puting modalities in place quietly for eventual taking over power when ZANU crumbles.I bet you give them one year that will be achieved.Don't worry all those ''Jokers of State'' in SADC will NOT have the money to rescue Mugabe and they will start jumping over board.
MDC-T should immediately withdraw from the GNU! They are (and ZANU-PF/Mugabe consider them so) nothing more than "window-dressing" for ZANU-PF/Mugabe to maintain their death-grip on power!
Withdrawal from the GNU takes away the patina of legitimacy to Comrade Bob's "government". NO ONE is standing by to help a Zimbabwe that is continued to be ruled by ZANU-PF!
"Looking East" will only cause eye-strain - the Chinese have issues of their own, they do not need to become embroiled in yet another African basket of discontent!
ZANU-PF/Mugabe actually NEED MDC-T to remain in government to give assurance to those who want to help that their aid will not be embezzled by ZANU-PF like the Global Fund for Aids & TB recently discovered!
Let ZANU-PF/Mugabe try to "govern" without the support of MDC-T! They will fail, as they have for the last 20 years. People will learn that respect for liberation heroes of 30 years ago doesn't mean much when those same "heroes" are the ones telling you today that you must starve!
Stop the madness, withdraw from the GNU, call for a general strike! Force ZANU-PF/Mugabe to resort to the desperate measures you know they will have to take if MDC-T withold their support by forming a GNU! Unmask Mugabe the dictator for the world to see and watch the walls come tumbling down!
