Angola: Media Deputy Minister in Cabinda Province

Cabinda — The Angolan deputy minister of Social Communication (media), Miguel de Carvalho "Wadijimbi", arrived this Monday morning in the northern Cabinda province to inaugurate the local press club.

The inauguration of the press club is part of the commemorations programme of the 33rd National Independence anniversary, to be marked next Tuesday, November 11.

Restoring and equipping Cabinda's press club with furniture was sponsored by the Chevron multinational oil firm in collaboration with the provincial government of Cabinda.

During his stay, the media deputy minister will also inaugurate the building of the provincial social communication department and will visit the broadcasting centres of Malembo and Tenda, linked to the Angolan Public Television (TPA) and to the National Radio of Angola (RNA), respectively.

The programme also reserves meetings with the provincial governor of Cabinda, Aníbal Rocha, and with media officials in this region.

Manuel de Carvalho will also attend on Tuesday a provincial rally to mark the 33rd anniversary of the proclamation of the national independence, to happen in Buco Zau district, about 140 kilometres to the north of Cabinda city.
