Angola: Youths More Aware of Their Responsibilities - Minister

10 November 2008

Luanda — The minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba, last weekend here said that youths are more active and aware of their responsibilities regarding the country.

Addressing ANGOP, in the light of the 33rd National Independence anniversary, to be commemorated on Tuesday, the official said that youths participate and believe in the future of the country.

Angola is a prosperous country in a phase of development, where peace and prosperity flourish and whose poverty rate is dropping gradually, stressed the minister.

According to him, the independence was worthwhile because now Angolan women are more emancipated and assuming responsibilities at all levels of the society.

To the minister's view, the country has recently given an example to African continent with holding of the last September's legislative elections, considered as a reference for all.
