Enugu — Mr Emmanuel Ogiga whose wife recently gave birth to a set of quadruplet in Uda Community of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State has appealed to Nigerians to come to the aid of his family.
Ogiga, a middle-aged palm wine taper made the appeal when the Chairman of Igbo-Eze Local Government Council, Mr. Chijioke Ugwu visited the Uda Health Centre to donate some household items to the poor family. Ogiga"s wife, Lovina who is a full-time housewife, successfully delivered the babies at the hospital.
Items donated by the council Chairman in support of the family were a grinding machine, a bed, bedding materials, baby food, detergents, clothes and toiletries.
Receiving the items, Ogiga said his family was blessed with other children before the arrival of the quadruplet, stressing that it would be difficult for him to cater for the large family without assistance or support from public-spirited individuals.
He expressed gratitude to the council chairman for his kind gesture and urged him not to relent in assisting the family to ensure the survival of the children.
Mr. Ugwu had while making the presentation said that his council is always ready to assist such families under its poverty reduction programme and urged the Ogiga family to make proper use of the materials for the upkeep of the newborn babies.
