Ghana: Tafo to Host 13th Open Golf Championship

The 13th annual Tafo open golf championship comes on at the Tafo golf course on Saturday and Sunday.

The two-day tournament is open to all Golf Clubs across the country and will be under the sponsorship of UT Financial Services limited.

It will be the 7th successive sponsorship of this home grown won-bank financial service company which has Prince Kofi Amaobeng as CEO and also president of the Tafo golf club.

This year's tournament promises to be heavily patronised, coming barely a fortnight after a successful hosting of a Ghana Commercial Bank's (GCB) Regional tournament at the venue.

The two day event will have the main men and ladies playing in 36-holes in scratches and handicap respectively for two /days.

Men scratch players will play from 0-14 handicap with the ladies playing to handicap 18 and below. Similarly, men amateur with handicap 14 and above and ladies with 24 and above will feature in the handicap.

Club captain Dr. F.K Oppong says the course is in excellent shape and as friendly and playable as ever, intimating that good score would be returned.
