The city of Takoradi was brought to life on Saturday, November 1, 2008, as hundreds of people from various Corporate and Educational Institutions took to the streets on a health walk sponsored by Cowbell.
The 10-kilometre walk began from the Takoradi sports club and went through the main areas of the metropolis. The walk took participants through the harbour roundabout, the Pa Grant roundabout and market circle amongst others.
There was a jubilant atmosphere throughout the event as walkers enjoyed music from the six-man brass band that accompanied them. At the end of the walk, the participants engaged in aerobic sessions.
Many of the participants admitted that the walk had really tested their endurance level and saw it as something they would like to be able to do on a regular basis.
A representative of Promasidor, makers of Cowbell said that their brand was very glad to be associated with the health walk and was looking forward to bringing more of such exciting outdoor events to the city of Takoradi. He emphasised that Cowbell was always looking to be associated with events that promoted good health either through exercising, good eating or good environmental practices.
