Tanzania: Dar Afya Club to Visit Arusha Wazee Next Weekend

Arusha — The Arusha Wazee Sports Club will next weekend play host to the Dar es Salaam-based Afya Sports Club, which brings together seniors medical officers and practitioners, for sporting activities.

The Group composed of about 30 members, and partly sponsored by Vodacom Tanzania, is expected to arrive in Arusha on the evening of Friday 14 November and depart on Sunday.

According to the Wazee Club Secretary General Mr. Kingdom Mwanguku the Afya Club will play a match against the Wazee on Saturday afternoon at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.

However prior to the match, in the morning of the Saturday, the visiting doctors, in collaboration with the Wazee Club, will organise some free medical clinic and consultancy to Arusha residents with health problems at the Stadium. The clinic, Mr. Mwanguku said was part of the Clubs' and Vodacom community outreach humanitarian programmes.

The Wazee Club, he added, has arranged for those who will get prescriptions for medicine to secure them at St. Thomas Hospital in town at a big discounted rate.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mwanguku has called upon all members of the Wazee Club to turn up for the normal Sunday training at ESAMI grounds this weekend at 2:00 p.m. as agreed at the members meeting last Sunday.
