As part of preparations marking this year's Hajj performance in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stakeholders in the Hajj operation yesterday held a day's orientation ceremony for 2008 pilgrims at the conference hall of the Gambia Supreme Islamic Council headquarters along the MDI road in Kanifing.

The ceremony which brought together hundreds of pilgrims from various parts of the country was organised by the Orbit Travel Agency, Continental Travel Agency and Banjul Travel Agency and was facilitated by the Gambia Supreme Islamic council (GSIC).

At the occasion, the pilgrims were advised and sensitized on several issues.

Alhagie Kebba Landing Sanyang, Amir of the Hajj Commission delved into issues that will affect them during the Hajj. He advised about how behave while performing the Hajj. He reminded them that they are going to seek Allah's blessings and forgiveness.

He advised them be obedient and urged them to distance themselves from any inhuman behaviour.

Amir Sanyang warned the pilgrims to avoid things that can creat a bad name for the country. He announced that Gambia pilgrims this year have the best and most comfortable hotel.

The Gambia's Amir Hajj hailed the Gambian leader for his support. He thanked him for making sure that every thing is in order and expressed optimism that there will be no delays in departing.

Amie Jarju Chery and Adulette Sey, both operators, expressed optimism that the Gambia's pilgrims will have the best accommodation and feeding.
